Earth Day Canoeing
About this event
Celebrate the 55th Earth Day by paddling through wetlands and learning about local wildlife like beavers and eagles.
What to Expect
- 1.You'll likely get a quick safety briefing and a paddle demo before launch; life jackets are required and can be provided.
- 2.Dress for outdoor canoeing: moisture-wicking clothes, water shoes, sunscreen, and bug spray.
- 3.Wildlife sightings (beavers, eagles) can steal the show—keep your distance, stay quiet, and don’t feed animals.
- 4.If you’re new to paddling, you’ll be grouped with a guide or slower group and shown basic strokes; bring a small dry bag for your keys and phone.
- 5.Parking at Crosswinds Marsh can be limited; arrive 15 minutes early, carpool if possible, and expect a short walk from the lot to the launch.
