What to Expect

• 1.Expect a group hike at the refuge, with wildlife and river scenery as part of the outing. Bring binoculars if you like spotting birds or other wildlife.
• 2.Register ahead of time since free registration is required. Check the event listing for any route or check-in details before heading out.
• 3.Wear comfortable, sturdy shoes and dress in layers. Trails can feel cooler or muddier than nearby paved areas, especially in November.
• 4.Bring water and a snack, since food and drink availability at the refuge is not specified. Pack out anything you bring.
• 5.The event runs for several hours, so confirm whether you can join for just part of it or should plan to stay for the full outing.
