A celebration of environmental action for southeast Michigan featuring educational activities and zoo exhibits.
What to Expect
- 1.Plan your route with the event map so you hit the educational and environmental-action stations without backtracking.
- 2.Wear comfortable shoes and bring layers — the Detroit Zoo is a big outdoor campus and some exhibits are in sun while others are shaded.
- 3.Bring a refillable water bottle and take a couple of short breaks to stay hydrated while you wander between exhibits.
- 4.If you’re bringing kids, start with the hands-on, interactive stations near the entrance to keep everyone engaged.
- 5.Give yourself plenty of time to park, check in, and explore before the 3:00 pm end time; the zoo layout can take longer than you think.
