Michigan State Fair 2026

About This Event

The Michigan State Fair features a huge carnival midway, agricultural exhibits, live entertainment, and the Shrine Circus. A Labor Day weekend tradition for families.

What to Expect

• 1.You'll get a taste of a classic state fair with a huge carnival midway, livestock and agriculture displays, and the Shrine Circus; plan a rough route so you hit the rides and exhibits without backtracking.
• 2.Expect a family crowd and lots of kids, so things can be crowded on Labor Day weekend; go early or late to dodge the worst lines and give yourself time for the circus.
• 3.Food stalls will cover the usual fair favorites; bring cash if vendors are cash-only and set a snack budget so you don't blow through your day in seconds.
• 4.The venue is a large showplace with multiple halls, so wear comfortable shoes and use signage to navigate between the midway, animals, and circus arena.
• 5.First timers should check Shrine Circus showtimes ahead of time, arrive with a plan for seating, and keep an eye on your kids in the crowd.
