A resource fair providing information and support for Oakland County veterans.
What to Expect
- 1.Get there early and check in at the information desk to grab a map and the day’s schedule. Bring a photo ID or veteran ID and check parking options in advance—the Novi Civic Center lot can fill up fast and there are multiple entrances.
- 2.Bring copies of important documents (DD-214, discharge papers, benefit letters) if you want to discuss claims or education benefits; have a notebook or phone to take notes and collect contact info from the reps.
- 3.Plan your route by listing booths you want to visit (VA benefits, healthcare enrollment, education, employment services, housing assistance). Talk to veterans service organizations about local programs and ask questions; don’t be afraid to spend time at each booth that’s relevant to you.
- 4.Hydration and snacks may be limited inside the venue, so bring water or a small snack if needed. Wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for a walk through a larger building with long corridors.
