Portrait in Oil Class

About This Event

Learn the art of portrait painting with oil paint, working from a live model. This is the first session of a multi-week course.

What to Expect

• 1.You'll paint from a live model, so expect to spend time observing proportions, light, and facial features rather than just copying a photo.
• 2.This is the first session of a multi-week course, so plan to attend the full series if you want to build on what you learn.
• 3.Oil paint can be messy and slow to dry. Wear clothes you don't mind getting stained, and ask ahead whether materials are provided.
• 4.Arrive a little early to get settled and choose a place where you can see the model clearly.
• 5.You'll be working alongside other students, but the focus is on painting, so conversation is optional.
