Royal Oak Memorial Day Parade

About This Event

Annual parade honoring veterans and those who have served.

What to Expect

• 1.Get there early to claim a viewing spot along Fifth Street in Downtown Royal Oak; sidewalks fill up fast and street closures may affect access.
• 2.Park in one of Downtown Royal Oak's public garages or use a rideshare; street parking is limited on Memorial Day morning.
• 3.Dress for Michigan May weather: comfortable shoes, light layers, sunscreen, and a bottle of water; it can be a sunny or chilly start.
• 4.After the parade, stroll the district for brunch or coffee—Downtown Royal Oak has plenty of dining options within easy walking distance.
• 5.Be respectful during veterans' ceremonies and keep kids close; stay on sidewalks and don't block crosswalks; bring a small flag or signs if you plan to participate.
