What to Expect
- 1.Plan a route to hit the biggest displays and expect a 1.5–2 hour stroll; map out a loop so you don’t miss favorites.
- 2.Dress for winter with layers, a warm coat, hat, gloves, and waterproof boots—the path is outdoors and can get slick after sunset.
- 3.Arrive early to snag parking and beat the weekend crowds; consider rideshare or carpool if you’re bringing the whole family.
- 4.Bring a charged phone or small camera for photos and use the zoo map to mark must-see displays; keep your group together and watch the kids in low light.
- 5.Check for concessions and warm drink options along the route and plan a couple of snack breaks; bring small essentials for kids and a portable seat or blanket for rests if needed.
