What to Expect
- 1.Bundle up—it's a cold, outdoor stroll. Wear warm layers and waterproof shoes; the route is long and you’ll be outside most of the evening.
- 2.Arrive early to beat peak parking and lines at the food stands. The parking lots fill up fast on winter nights.
- 3.Use a map and plan a loop to hit your must-see displays; with 500+ displays spread out along the zoo grounds, you’ll want a rough route.
- 4.Check for warming huts and restrooms along the path; bring a small flashlight for darker stretches.
- 5.Keep kids close and stay on the marked paths; the lights are dazzling but crowds can be thick near popular displays.
