The Rochester-Avon Historical Society hosts an Antique Appraisal Day where experts evaluate your treasures.
What to Expect
- 1.Bring 3-5 items you’d actually want appraised, with maker marks, dates, and provenance. If you can’t transport them, bring clear photos or notes instead.
- 2.Plan to arrive a bit before noon to beat crowds; the event runs 12:00–16:00 and you may queue for each appraisal.
- 3.Appraisals are informal estimates—ask what the valuation covers (insurance, estate, or sale) and whether there is a formal option and any fees.
- 4.While you wait, check out the Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm exhibits and grounds; wear comfy shoes and be prepared for indoor/outdoor spaces.
- 5.Bring a notebook, pen, and questions ready for each item; take notes and compare opinions from different appraisers.
