History Comes Alive: An Eloquence of Lawyers

About This Event

History Comes Alive is in its 23rd year! This session features 'An Eloquence of Lawyers: Rhetoric, Liberty and Libel in Eighteenth Century Britain and America' and 'Röhm: The Rise and Fall of a Nazi Icon' with Derek Hastings.

What to Expect

• 1.Expect two history-focused presentations, one on legal rhetoric and liberty in 18th-century Britain and America, and one on Nazi figure Ernst Röhm.
• 2.This is a lecture-style evening, so you can settle in and listen without needing to mingle or participate.
• 3.Arrive a little early to find the room and get a seat before the talks begin at 7:00 PM.
• 4.Bring a light layer in case the indoor room feels cool, and consider taking notes if you want to follow up on the historical topics.
• 5.The listing does not mention food or drinks, so plan to eat beforehand rather than count on refreshments being available.
