What to Expect
- 1.Sign in at the desk and choose a “book” by topic or vibe; librarians can steer you to someone with a story you want to hear.
- 2.Conversations are usually one-on-one or small groups in quiet library spaces—listen closely, speak respectfully, and let others take a turn.
- 3.Keep your voice down and follow staff directions; expect short chats and be ready to move to another book if the line grows.
- 4.Have a few open-ended questions ready, but let the dialogue breathe and pivot or end gracefully if a topic becomes uncomfortable.
- 5.If it’s your first time, approach with curiosity and kindness, and you might walk away with a perspective you hadn’t considered.
