About this event
Official welcome ceremony for new students including the traditional 'Clap-In' and a party at the Elliott Tower.
What to Expect
- 1.Arrive early to the OU Credit Union O'Rena for the Clap-In; the arena will be packed with new students, so give yourself time to find your section and your group.
- 2.Dress comfortably and bring a light layer; arenas can swing between warm and chilly during the ceremonies and the post event mingling at Elliott Tower.
- 3.Be open to meeting people. A quick hello can spark conversations with your neighbors, and you might make a friend for the first week of classes.
- 4.After the ceremony, head to Elliott Tower for the party but stay flexible with timing and routes; campus crowds can slow you down.
- 5.Pack light and carry water; big crowds mean long lines at entry points and check-ins, so bring only essentials and stay hydrated.
