Polar Power Walk
About this event
Join Urban Solace for an invigorating power walk on the Detroit Riverfront.
What to Expect
- 1.Dress in layers and wear warm, waterproof footwear. The Polar Power Walk is outdoors along the riverfront in February, so wind chill can bite even on sunny days. Bring water if you tend to get dehydrated.
- 2.Arrive 10-15 minutes early to check in with the Urban Solace host and get instructions; the walk will run about 60 minutes at a steady pace along the riverfront.
- 3.The route hugs Detroit Riverfront near Valade Park; be mindful of slick or icy patches and stay aware of other pedestrians; enjoy the winter scenery as you go.
- 4.Parking near Valade Park can be tight in winter; plan for street parking or nearby lots and allow extra time.
- 5.If you're new to group walks, it's okay to go at your own pace; let the leader know if you need to slow down or take a short break; this is a friendly, non-competitive workout.
