What to Expect
- 1.Youll be doing hands on restoration work, learning conservation minded cleaning techniques and safe repair methods under an instructor's guidance.
- 2.The atmosphere will be quiet and respectful since this takes place in a cemetery setting, but you will have a chance to chat briefly with the instructor and fellow attendees about techniques and stone care.
- 3.There probably wont be on site meals, so bring water and a snack if you need it; there may be limited amenities, so plan for outdoor work.
- 4.Plan to arrive a bit early for check in at Newburg Cemetery and parking on site; wear sturdy closed toe shoes and bring sun protection for an outdoor morning session.
- 5.First timers should bring a notebook to jot down steps and tips, ask questions as you go, and follow cemetery rules and safety guidelines while handling historic stones.
