Royal Oak Firefighters vs. Royal Oak Police Charity Hockey Game
About this event
A charity hockey game between Royal Oak Firefighters and Royal Oak Police.
What to Expect
- 1.Two local teams will take the ice for a friendly charity game, so expect earnest saves and lighthearted play rather than pro level domination. There will probably be a fundraising moment or two during intermission, so stay aware of donation stations.
- 2.The crowd leans family friendly and neighborhood vibe, lots of locals and kids in the stands, so it feels welcoming even if you're new to hockey.
- 3.Concessions are the standard arena fare and lines can get long during intermission, so plan a quick snack run before the puck drops or between periods.
- 4.Parking around John Lindell Ice Arena can get busy on event nights in Royal Oak, so aim to arrive 30 minutes early and give yourself time to find a spot and get in.
- 5.If you're a first timer, dress in warm layers since arenas are cold, and grab a seat with easy access to exits in case you want to step out during a break or take in the community announcements.
