Shiver on the River
About this event
A family-friendly winter festival featuring ice carving demonstrations, nature education, wildlife tracking, and eco-fair activities.
What to Expect
- 1.You'll catch ice carving demos, nature-education stations, and wildlife-tracking activities all around the Belle Isle Nature Center. Plan to loop to a few carving demos when crowds are thinner so you can actually see the details up close.
- 2.The crowd is typically family-friendly and laid-back, so you can wander from booth to demonstration without feeling rushed.
- 3.There are indoor exhibits and warming spots inside the Nature Center, so bring layers and take breaks if the wind bites.
- 4.Parking on Belle Isle tends to fill up, so arrive early or consider transit; the festival runs from 10:00 to 14:00.
- 5.Dress for winter on the trails—waterproof boots, gloves, and a hat help, and bring a small map or follow posted signs to find the eco-fair activities.
