Tween Coding Club

About this event

A coding club specifically for tweens to learn and practice programming skills.

What to Expect

  • 1.You'll sit at library computer stations with other tweens. You'll be starting or continuing a beginner project in Scratch or Python while a librarian mentor circulates.
  • 2.The crowd vibe is friendly and supportive, with helpers ready to explain concepts step by step. Don't worry if you hit a snag, that's part of the learning process.
  • 3.Food and drinks at desks are usually off limits, so bring water and plan a snack break in the lobby. If you need a longer break, check the library schedule.
  • 4.Logistics: check in at the program desk on arrival and park in the library lot along Walnut Lake Road. The session is in the evening, so bring a charged device and a curious mindset.
  • 5.First timer tips: bring a charged laptop if you have one, label your workspace, and ask questions early to get help from staff or peers. If you don't have a laptop, ask in advance whether the library has devices you can borrow.
