What to Expect
- 1.You'll see players of all levels, from total beginners to regulars—it's a low-pressure space where you can jump in for a quick game or just observe a round or two.
- 2.The library setting means a quiet, study-friendly atmosphere, so keep voices down and save longer conversations for after the game.
- 3.Bring your own chess set if you have one; the library may have sets, but it's not guaranteed, so it's safer to bring your own.
- 4.If you're new, seek out a regular for a quick intro or a quick demonstration game—people are usually happy to help.
- 5.Plan to arrive a few minutes early to sign in at the desk and know that the session runs from 5:30 to 7:00 pm.
